Magnetic Stirrer

A magnetic stirrer is a lab device for mixing liquids.  It uses a rotating magnetic field to spin a small, coated magnet (stir bar) inside the liquid container. Often used in biology and chemistry labs (0-1000 rpm speed, 5-40 C temp range), it provides quiet, controlled stirring for experiments where a stirrer rod might be impractical or introduce contamination. The design is simple: a base with a rotating magnet underneath and a platform for the container. The function is to create a uniform mix through magnetic force. Performance varies by model but most offer adjustable speed and temperature control.
